State Fair!, A study in farm animals, edibles, and why you shouldn't miss your State's fair

Going to the annual NY State Fair has been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember.  Fried food, mullets and farm animals abound in this veritable wonderland of what's so great about New York State (as in the part of NY that ISN'T NYC). Who in their right mind would not want to experience that?

This year, I dared to bring my new camera, a bold move as often it's difficult to get form point A to point B without being bumped by overly zealous fair goers who think you are cutting them in line for their fried Oreos and funnel cake.  I managed to make it through with the camera unscathed while gaining about 5 lbs., some mediocre pictures, and a lot of memories.

The main reasons I love to attend the State Fair boil down to 1) I love food, 2) I love animals, and 3) I love to people watch.  Since I don't like to take pictures of people without them knowing and post it on the internet, (imagine that an ethical inter netter) the following pictures are mostly of animals, which if your anything like me you'll enjoy more anyways!
Enjoying our perspective treats, I got a gyro, and J got a fried chicken glazed doughnut sandwich!

Some goat friends! All the animals are there to compete, it's like a farm animal beauty pageant!

Bloomin' Onion, delicious and necessary treat, sliced up onion battered and deep fried!

So many cute bunnies, I'm not sure how they pick which ones win, I thought they were all blue ribbon bunnies.

Some chickens!  They feed some white chickens colored feed to dye their feathers!

I don't care who you are, if you don't think this little guinea is cute, we are not friends!

Just a fluffly little cloud I made friends with.

Anyways, those are just a few of the shots I got at the always entertaining and interesting NY State Fair this year.  I think I'll bring my camera again next year and try to get some more shots of the pigs and horses since I didn't get any this year.  I hope it inspires some of you to get out and experience what your State has to offer!

May your life always be blue ribbon worthy,

Well how-dee-doo and WELCOME to the Laura Lou and Photography Too blogeroo... oh this isn't an old Western, well then I'll stop with all that nonsense now.  If you are here because you know me then HI. If you are here because you do not know me and you would like to know me then... HI to you too!

To put it succinctly this is just a collection of my ramblings about my life, photography and anything else I darn well please because this is MY blog dammnit! Oh goodness, well that escalated quickly...

I'm keeping it short and sweet for this first post, mostly because I have no idea what I'm doing on this newfangled blogisphere so many buuuttonsss...  So stick around for more inane drivel, visual examples of me fumbling with a Canon DSLR, and the general ravings of a mad-womangirlchild who thinks 25 is a dandy year to figure out life. In closing of my very first post.... here is a picture of my sister's golden retriever Abigail Louise (I know that name is adorkable) in 3D Movie hipster glasses, because honestly if that doesn't tickle your fancy I'm not sure what you're doing on the interwebs!

"I played tug of war before it was cool"

Hey the blog title says photography... no one promised it would be any good! : P

May the grass always be greener on your side,
